Club Captains - Junior & Senior
1 Jul by Crispin Butteriss
This is a pre-holiday message to ask swimmers (and families) to use the break to think about whether you would be interested in taking on a leadership role with the club.
Being a Club Captain is a great way to give back to the club in lots of ways and to develop your leadership skills.
After the holidays I’ll send out a form asking you to nominate yourself as a Club Captain, and tell us a bit about why you would like to take on the role, and how you would approach it.
We are looking for Captains with a strong commitment to team building, a disciplined approach to training, and a commitment to competition – because helping to mentor younger swimmers at comp’s is an important part of the role.
This year we will be appointing FOUR club captains, two junior and two senior. We won’t necessarily be appointing a male and female senior and junior captain.
Junior captains will need to be eligible to win the Junior Club Champion Trophy; which means you will need to be 13 or under for the ENTIRE swimming year.
I’ll send out more information about the role with the nomination form. For now, think it over.
Thanks
Crispin
Club President
